About The Position
The Genesee Brew House is seeking a motivated Dishwasher to help ensure the dishwashing area is maintained as a clean, safe, and sanitary facility. The role involves washing dishes, glassware, cooking utensils, pots, pans, and trays; maintaining clean and dry kitchen floors and work areas; and notifying a Manager when dish-machine wash or rinse temperatures fall below safety standards. The position involves standing for extended periods on concrete floors, occasional stair climbing, and frequent bending, stooping, reaching, and lifting. The work environment includes moderate noise and heat, open flames, hot surfaces, knives, and other sharp objects, with hazards such as cuts, burns, slips, and trips. The stated base hourly wage is $16.00.
Requirements
- Manual dexterity skills.
- Organizational skills.
- Active listening, including paying attention, understanding points, and asking questions as appropriate.
- Ability to speak effectively and convey information to others.
- Ability to lift up to 60 pounds and, with assistance, up to 150 pounds up to twice per shift.
Responsibilities
- Sort and rinse dirty dishes, glassware, and cooking utensils, place them in racks, and run them through the dish machine.
- Wash pots, pans, and trays by hand.
- Keep the work area safe and clean; sweep and mop as needed.
- Keep kitchen floors clean and dry, promptly wiping up and cleaning spills.
- Notify a Manager whenever dish-machine wash or rinse temperatures fall below safety standards.
