About The Position
The Dishwasher maintains dishes, pots, pans, trays, kitchen work areas, equipment, and utensils in an orderly and sanitary condition. The position is based at Tennessee Tech University in Cookeville, Tennessee. The schedule may vary based on operational needs; further details are available during the interview. No experience is required. The position pays $14.50 to $15.50 per hour, and applications are accepted on an ongoing basis until openings are filled. Because the role serves an educational facility, work may be reduced or paused during school breaks, potentially resulting in an unpaid temporary layoff. Depending on business needs, year-round work may be required, potentially at a different location during break periods.

Responsibilities
- Scrape and rinse food from dirty dishes, then wash them by hand or load them into racks or a dishwashing machine, as assigned.
- Wash pots, pans, and trays according to assigned procedures.
- Polish silver using the equipment and procedures assigned.
- Ensure cleanliness and sanitation of dishes, kitchen areas, and equipment.
- Follow safety procedures and maintain temperatures and chemical levels according to provided standards.
- Keep the dish area orderly and compliant with safety standards.
- Sweep and mop kitchen floors in accordance with safety and sanitation standards.
- Wash worktables, walls, refrigerators, meat blocks, and other food preparation surfaces.
- Remove trash and place it in designated containers; steam-clean or hose out garbage cans.
- Transfer supplies and equipment between storage and work areas.
- Help load and unload supplies and products.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
