DISHWASHER (FULL TIME)
About The Position
Chartwells Higher Ed is hiring a full-time Dishwasher at Tennessee Tech University in Cookeville, Tennessee. The role maintains dishes, pots, pans, trays, kitchen and work areas, equipment, and utensils in an orderly and sanitary condition. No prior experience is required. The schedule may vary according to operational needs, with further details provided during the interview. Pay is $14.50–$15.50 per hour. Because this position provides services in an educational facility, work may not be required during some school breaks when food-service needs decline or cease; those periods may be unpaid and treated as a temporary layoff. Depending on business needs, associates may be required to work year-round, potentially at a different location during breaks. Business needs may vary from year to year.
Requirements

- Must be able to perform the essential functions of the position satisfactorily, with or without reasonable accommodation.
Responsibilities
- Scrape and rinse food from dishes, then wash them by hand or load them into dishwashing equipment; ensure they are clean and sanitary.
- Wash pots, pans, and trays according to assigned procedures and ensure they are clean and sanitary.
- Polish silver using assigned equipment and procedures, ensuring it is clean and sanitary.
- Follow outlined safety procedures.
- Maintain temperatures and chemical levels according to provided standards.
- Keep the dish area orderly and compliant with safety standards.
- Sweep and mop kitchen floors in accordance with safety and sanitation standards.
- Wash worktables, walls, refrigerators, meat blocks, and other food-preparation surfaces.
- Remove trash to designated containers and steam-clean or hose out garbage cans.
- Transfer supplies and equipment between storage and work areas.
- Help load and unload supplies and products.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
