About The Position

The Dishwasher maintains dishes, pots, pans, trays, kitchen and work areas, equipment, and utensils in an orderly and sanitary condition. The position is temporary, with a temporary-to-permanent schedule possible. Days and hours may vary across first and second shifts, with rotating weekends and holidays. The job is located at Barnes Jewish Medical Center in Saint Peters, Missouri. The pay range is $17.00 to $18.00 per hour. Previous dishwashing experience is preferred. Responsibilities

Scrape and rinse food from dirty dishes, then wash them by hand or use a dishwashing machine, depending on assigned equipment.
Ensure dishes and work are completely clean and sanitary.
Wash pots, pans, and trays according to assigned procedures.
Polish silver using assigned equipment and procedures, which may include a burnishing machine tumbler, chemical dip, buffing wheel, or hand cloth.
Follow outlined safety procedures.
Maintain temperatures and chemical levels according to provided standards.
Keep the dish area orderly and compliant with safety standards.
Sweep and mop kitchen floors to meet safety and sanitation standards.
Wash worktables, walls, refrigerators, meat blocks, and other food preparation surfaces.
Remove trash and place it in designated containers.
Steam-clean or hose out garbage cans.
Transfer supplies and equipment between storage and work areas.
Help load and unload supplies and product.
Perform other duties as assigned.
