About The Position
The Dishwasher maintains dishes, pots, pans, trays, kitchen and work areas, equipment, and utensils in an orderly and sanitary condition. The role includes washing dishes and cookware by hand or using dishwashing equipment, polishing silverware, maintaining the dish area, and supporting kitchen cleaning, sanitation, safety, and supply-handling activities.
Responsibilities
- Scrape and rinse food from dirty dishes, then wash them by hand or load them into racks or a dishwashing machine, ensuring cleanliness and sanitation.
- Wash pots, pans, and trays according to assigned procedures, ensuring cleanliness and sanitation.
- Polish silver using the assigned equipment and procedures, which may include a burnishing machine tumbler, chemical dip, buffing wheel, or hand cloth.
- Follow outlined safety procedures.
- Maintain temperatures and chemical levels according to provided standards.
- Keep the dish area orderly and compliant with safety standards.
- Sweep and mop kitchen floors in accordance with safety and sanitation standards.
- Wash worktables, walls, refrigerators, meat blocks, and other food-preparation surfaces.
- Remove trash to designated containers and steam-clean or hose out garbage cans.
- Transfer supplies and equipment between storage and work areas.
- Help load and unload supplies and product.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
