About The Position

The Dishroom Clerk helps maintain a clean, safe, and well-run kitchen by washing equipment, dishes, utensils, pots, and pans and keeping the work area clean and neat. The role also provides friendly customer service, supports the team, and may assist in other store areas or special projects as assigned. The position is performed in a kitchen environment and requires staying active throughout the shift. Employment is contingent upon successful completion of a pre-employment drug screen.

Requirements

• Ability to follow detailed written or verbal instructions and work through tasks involving a few concrete variables.
• Ability to perform simple addition and subtraction, copy figures, and count and record accurately.
• Ability to understand and follow verbal or demonstrated directions.
• Ability to communicate supply needs orally or in writing.
• Ability to work effectively as part of a team.
• Successful completion of a pre-employment drug screen is required.

Nice To Haves

• Six months or less of similar or related work experience is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provide prompt, friendly customer service and greet customers positively.
• Thoroughly wash department equipment, utensils, dishes, pots, and pans.
• Handle food safely and keep the work area clean and neat.
• Remove trash promptly and take department garbage to the compactor or designated area.
• Answer the telephone promptly and provide helpful service to callers.
• Work with co-workers as a team to support customer satisfaction and a pleasant work environment.
• Assist in other areas of the store and complete special projects as assigned.
• Follow personal hygiene and dress standards, Hy-Vee policies, and store guidelines.
• Report to work as scheduled and on time.
