About The Position

The Dishroom Clerk works in the Market Grille and helps maintain a clean, safe, and well-run kitchen. The role involves cleaning equipment, dishes, utensils, pots, and pans; handling food safely; and keeping the work area neat. The clerk also provides friendly customer service, supports coworkers, and may assist in other store areas or special projects. The position requires adherence to hygiene, dress, safety, and store policies, as well as reporting to scheduled shifts on time. Employment is contingent upon successful completion of a pre-employment drug screen.

Requirements

• Follow detailed written or verbal instructions and complete tasks involving a few concrete variables.
• Perform simple addition and subtraction, copy figures, and count and record accurately.
• Understand and follow verbal or demonstrated directions.
• Communicate supply needs orally or in writing.
• Work effectively as part of a team.
• Frequently stand and walk throughout the shift and perform repetitive standing, walking, reaching, and bending associated with cleaning and sanitation duties.

Nice To Haves

• Six months or less of similar or related work experience is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provide prompt, friendly customer service and greet customers positively.
• Wash department equipment, utensils, dishes, pots, and pans thoroughly and consistently.
• Handle food safely and keep the work area clean and neat.
• Remove trash promptly and take department garbage to the compactor or designated area.
• Answer the telephone promptly and provide helpful service to callers.
• Work with coworkers to support customer satisfaction and a pleasant work environment.
• Assist in other store areas as needed and complete special projects as assigned.
• Follow personal hygiene and dress standards, Hy-Vee policies, and store guidelines.
• Report to work as scheduled and on time.
