About The Position

The Dishroom Clerk works in the Market Grille kitchen to keep equipment, dishes, utensils, and the work area clean and safe. The role involves washing department equipment, utensils, dishes, pots, and pans; handling food safely; and supporting the team in delivering food and service to customers. The clerk provides friendly customer service, removes trash, answers telephone calls, works with co-workers, and assists elsewhere in the store or with special projects as assigned. The position requires following hygiene, dress, company policy, and store guidelines and reporting to work as scheduled and on time. Employment is contingent upon successful completion of a pre-employment drug screen.

Requirements

• Follow detailed written or verbal instructions and complete tasks involving a few concrete variables.
• Perform simple addition and subtraction, copy figures, and count and record accurately.
• Understand and follow verbal or demonstrated directions.
• Communicate supply needs orally or in writing.
• Work effectively as part of a team.
• Frequently stand and walk throughout a shift.
• Perform repetitive standing, walking, reaching, and bending associated with cleaning and sanitation duties.

Nice To Haves

• Six months or less of similar or related work experience is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Remove trash promptly and take department garbage to the compactor or designated area.

• Work with co-workers as a team to support customer satisfaction and a pleasant work environment.
• Assist in other areas of the store and take on special projects as assigned.
• Follow personal hygiene and dress standards, Hy-Vee policies, and store guidelines.
• Report to work as scheduled and on time.
