About The Position

Hy-Vee is seeking a Dishroom Clerk for its Market Grille department. The role supports a clean, safe, and well-run kitchen by keeping equipment, dishes, utensils, and work areas clean so the team can focus on food and customer service. The clerk provides friendly customer service, works collaboratively with co-workers, and stays active throughout the shift. Night and weekend shifts are required.

The position requires no formal education. Six months or less of similar or related work experience is preferred. Employment is contingent upon successful completion of a pre-employment drug screen.

Requirements

• Ability to follow detailed written or verbal instructions and complete tasks involving a few concrete variables.
• Ability to perform simple addition and subtraction, copy figures, and count and record accurately.
• Ability to understand and follow verbal or demonstrated directions.
• Ability to communicate supply needs orally or in writing.
• Ability to work effectively as part of a team.
• No education requirement.
• Successful completion of a pre-employment drug screen is required.

Responsibilities

• Provide prompt, friendly customer service, greet customers, and make interactions positive.
• Thoroughly wash department equipment, utensils, dishes, pots, and pans.
• Handle food safely and keep the work area clean and neat.
• Remove trash promptly and take department garbage to the compactor or designated area.
• Answer the telephone promptly and provide helpful service to callers.
• Work with co-workers as a team to support customer satisfaction and a pleasant work environment.
• Assist in other areas of the store and take on special projects as assigned.
• Maintain personal hygiene, dress standards, and compliance with Hy-Vee policies and store guidelines.
• Report to work as scheduled and on time.
