About The Position

The Dishroom Clerk helps maintain a clean, safe, and well-run kitchen by cleaning equipment, dishes, utensils, and work areas. The role supports the kitchen team in delivering food and service to customers, provides friendly customer service, and involves staying active throughout the shift. Employment is contingent upon successful completion of a pre-employment drug screen.

Requirements

• Must be at least 18 years old.
• Ability to follow detailed written or verbal instructions and work through tasks involving a few concrete variables.
• Ability to perform simple addition and subtraction, copy figures, and count and record accurately.
• Ability to understand and follow verbal or demonstrated directions.
• Ability to communicate supply needs orally or in writing.
• Ability to work effectively as part of a team.
• Frequently stand and walk throughout a shift; perform repetitive standing, walking, reaching, and bending associated with cleaning and sanitation duties.

Nice To Haves

• Six months or less of similar or related work experience is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provide prompt, friendly customer service and greet customers positively.
• Thoroughly wash department equipment, utensils, dishes, pots, and pans.
• Handle food safely and keep the work area clean and neat.
• Remove trash promptly and take department garbage to the compactor or designated area.
• Answer the telephone promptly and provide helpful service to callers.
• Work with co-workers as a team to support customer satisfaction and a pleasant work environment.
• Assist in other store areas and take on special projects as assigned.
• Maintain personal hygiene and dress standards and follow Hy-Vee policies and store guidelines.
• Report to work as scheduled and on time.
