About The Position

The Dishroom Clerk supports a clean, safe, and well-run kitchen by keeping equipment, dishes, utensils, and the work area clean. The role provides friendly customer service and works with the kitchen team to support customer satisfaction and a pleasant work environment. The position is based in a kitchen environment and involves being on your feet throughout the shift. Training is provided to help ensure a safe and supportive work environment. Employment is contingent upon successful completion of a pre-employment drug screen.

Requirements

• Ability to follow detailed written or verbal instructions and complete tasks involving a few concrete variables.
• Ability to perform simple addition and subtraction, copy figures, and count and record accurately.
• Ability to understand and follow verbal or demonstrated directions.
• Ability to communicate supply needs orally or in writing.
• Ability to work effectively as part of a team.
• Six months or less of similar or related work experience is preferred; no education requirement.

Responsibilities

• Provide prompt, friendly customer service and greet customers with a smile.
• Thoroughly and consistently wash department equipment, utensils, dishes, pots, and pans.
• Handle food safely and keep the work area clean and neat.
• Remove trash promptly and take department garbage to the compactor or designated area.
• Answer the telephone promptly and provide friendly, helpful service to callers.
• Work with co-workers as a team to support customer satisfaction and a pleasant work environment.
• Assist in other store areas as needed and complete special projects as assigned.
• Follow personal hygiene and dress standards, Hy-Vee policies, and store guidelines.
• Report to work as scheduled and on time.
