The Director of Wellness and Health Coaching provides leadership for the strategy, operations, and fiscal oversight of all Wellness and Health Coaching Services. He/she possesses a wellness, well-being, and population health philosophy along with operating principles that serve as the foundation of the programs which its aim is to empower Ohio State University faculty and staff to reach their health potential and optimal state of well-being. In addition, the role facilitates innovative programs and services that promote a healthy workplace culture for a multi-generational workforce with onsite and remote workspaces. The Director applies his/her clinical and business knowledge and work experience to operate the wellness and health coaching services efficiently and leads to a viable wellness business for the OSU Health Plan. The Director works collaboratively with both internal and external constituents throughout OSU to advance programming and strives to operate the program with High Reliable Organization (HRO) principles. Oversees a staff of 26-32 nurses and seven health coaches along with six direct reports and a budget of over $2 million. The Director of Wellness & Health Coaching provides leadership for population health and well-being operations, including strategic planning, clinical and lifestyle behavior change program development, staff leadership, and performance management. The role is responsible for advancing OSU Health Plan priorities through data-driven, evidence-based initiatives that improve health outcomes, enhance member engagement, and support healthcare value. Cross-functional operational initiatives are a critical component of this role on a routine basis. The Director collaborates with OSU Health Plan, University Human Resources, and Your Plan for Health (YP4H), Wexner Medical Center, Buckeye Wellness, and Gabbe Health & Well-Being partners to develop and implement population health strategies focused on preventive care, chronic disease management, behavioral health, health equity, health literacy, and whole-person well-being. Using clinical, claims, and engagement data, the Director identifies population health needs, develops targeted interventions, measures outcomes, and drives continuous improvement. The Director serves as a leader, mentor, and strategic partner while promoting innovation, value-based care, and sustainable population health outcomes
