About the position
We are looking for a results-oriented, hands-on Director/Senior Software Engineering Manager to help build the next generation of tools and capabilities for the Internet of Value. This role involves leading impactful engineering teams, delivering outstanding results for customers, and collaborating with various teams to continuously improve the functionality of the XRP Ledger and its tooling. The ideal candidate should have at least 8+ years of hands-on software development experience, experience leading engineering teams, and a strong background in building scalable APIs and backend platforms.
Responsibilities
- Build and lead impactful engineering teams by motivating and leading by example
- Continuously innovate, improve, and think differently
- Deliver outstanding results for customers and serve as a role model for other engineers
- Create a shared vision and maintain strong partnerships with various teams
- Responsible for the entire software development process
- Own and deliver the roadmap
- Collaborate with external entrepreneurs and ecosystem partners to improve the XRP Ledger and its tooling
- Have at least 8+ years of hands-on Software Development experience
- Have led engineering teams of 10+
- Have experience building scalable APIs, backend platforms, distributed systems, etc.
- Familiarity with Agile development
- Have a bias towards action and quick decision-making
- Successfully recruit strong teammates
- Flourish with autonomy and responsibility
- Hold a BS in Computer Science or similar field
Requirements
- At least 8+ years of hands-on Software Development experience in at least one of the following technologies: Java, JavaScript, Python, Rails etc., building full-stack applications
- Have led engineering teams of 10+
- Demonstrated success building highly scalable APIs / backend platforms / distributed systems / data access layers, etc.
- Experience with Agile development
- Bias towards action and ability to make decisions quickly after considering opposing viewpoints
- Successfully recruited strong teammates
- Flourish with autonomy and responsibility
- BS in Computer Science or similar
