About the position
We are seeking a results-oriented Director/Senior Software Engineering Manager to lead and build impactful engineering teams in order to develop the next generation of tools and capabilities for creating the Internet of Value. This role will involve collaborating with various teams and external partners to enhance the speed, scalability, and functionality of the XRP Ledger and its associated tooling. The ideal candidate should have a strong background in software development, experience leading engineering teams, and a track record of building scalable APIs and backend platforms. Additionally, they should possess a bias towards action, the ability to make quick decisions, and a passion for recruiting and developing top talent.
Responsibilities
- Build and lead impactful engineering teams
- Motivate the team and lead by example to continuously innovate, improve, and think differently
- Deliver outstanding results for customers and serve as a role model for other engineers
- Create a shared vision and build and maintain strong partnerships with various teams
- Responsible for the entire software development process
- Own and deliver the roadmap
- Work with external entrepreneurs and ecosystem partners to improve the speed, scalability, and functionality of the XRP Ledger and its tooling
- Have at least 8+ years of hands-on Software Development experience
- Lead engineering teams of 10+
- Build highly scalable APIs, backend platforms, distributed systems, data access layers, etc.
- Experience with Agile development
- Have a bias towards action and make decisions quickly after considering opposing viewpoints
- Successfully recruit strong teammates
- Flourish with autonomy and responsibility
- Have a BS in Computer Science or similar
Requirements
- At least 8+ years of hands-on Software Development experience in at least one of the following technologies: Java, JavaScript, Python, Rails etc., building full-stack applications
- Have led engineering teams of 10+
- Demonstrated success building highly scalable APIs / backend platforms / distributed systems / data access layers, etc.
- Experience with Agile development
- Bias towards action and ability to make decisions quickly after considering opposing viewpoints
- Successfully recruited strong teammates
- Flourish with autonomy and responsibility
- BS in Computer Science or similar
