About The Position

Join an award-winning healthcare workforce company and own the front end of our federal growth engine. This is a hunter role—you open doors, build relationships, and create opportunities where none existed. You'll work with the agencies, contracting officers, program managers, and primes to position Cynet Health ahead of the competition before solicitations drop. The Director of Business Development is responsible for building a pipeline of winnable federal healthcare staffing opportunities and positioning Cynet Health to capture them.

Requirements

  • 10+ years in BD, with a consistent record of opening new accounts & building federal pipelines
  • 5+ years in healthcare staffing—travel nursing, allied health, and/or locum tenens
  • 5+ years of direct federal BD experience—you have walked the halls at VA, DHA, IHS, BOP, etc
  • Existing relationships with contracting officers, program managers, or prime contractor BD teams
  • Working knowledge of GSA Schedule 621I
  • Proficiency with SAM.gov, GovWin IQ, USASpending.gov

Nice To Haves

  • Correctional healthcare or military treatment facility experience is a plus

Responsibilities

  • Monitor SAM.gov, GovWin IQ, and USASpending daily for expiring contracts, new solicitations, and sole-source activity in healthcare staffing
  • Identify contracts held by competitors nearing expiration and build a strategy ahead of recompete
  • Qualify opportunities against our capabilities, past performance, and vehicle coverage (621I and others)
  • Engage agencies early—pre-RFP—to shape requirements and establish familiarity
  • Meet with agency personnel: contracting officers, program managers, CORs, and clinical end users
  • Attend agency industry days, pre-solicitation conferences, and procurement events
  • Develop a trusted advisor presence at target agencies so we are a known quantity before a vehicle opens
  • Understand each agency's mission, staffing challenges, and procurement culture
  • Build and maintain relationships with prime contractors who hold vehicles that we can ride as a sub
  • Identify teaming opportunities and bring potential partners to leadership for structuring
  • Represent us at relevant industry events
  • Qualify and brief opportunities to the proposal and operations teams with enough context to win
  • Maintain a live, prioritized pipeline in CRM with stage, probability, and next action
  • Provide market intelligence, agency budget trends, incumbent performance, and key personnel moves.
