Director, Product Design

GoFundMe•San Diego, CA
•$210,500 - $350,500

About The Position

GoFundMe is seeking a Director of Product Design to lead design for its enterprise software suite for nonprofit organizations. The role defines an experience vision that helps nonprofits build meaningful connections with supporters through innovative tools and features. It combines design leadership with hands-on work: setting a world-class quality bar, auditing end-to-end experiences, reducing design debt, providing direct critique, and stepping into high-stakes work when needed. The Director champions visual craft and GoFundMe’s Heart design system, drives adoption and contributions across teams, and builds scalable workflows for using AI while measuring impact and protecting quality. As a business leader alongside Product and Engineering, the Director helps shape roadmap decisions, sequencing, and resourcing. The role also builds and coaches designers and design managers, supports hiring, teaches cross-functional partners about design excellence, and collaborates with design leadership on the long-term experience vision, design systems, and ways of working. Candidates must be located in San Francisco, Los Angeles, or San Diego. The position is full-time and offers an annual U.S. salary range of $210,500–$350,500, plus bonus, equity, and benefits. Pay may vary by location and other factors.

  • Ability to attract top design talent through work and thought leadership.
