•$221,480 - $276,850

About The Position

Brex is hiring a Director of Performance Marketing to lead its performance marketing strategy and paid media investments across an expanding portfolio of channels. The role is accountable for customer acquisition, revenue growth, qualified pipeline, self-serve signups, and brand awareness. Working with the Senior Director of Growth Marketing, the director will scale an established acquisition engine, build an in-house center of excellence for performance and brand media buying, and lead a growing team. The role owns media investment strategy and financial performance, balancing near-term revenue outcomes with longer-term demand creation. The director will manage a growing multimillion-dollar media budget and guide investment across paid search, paid social, YouTube, connected TV, programmatic, and other upper-funnel channels. The role will develop full-funnel strategies and measurement capabilities, partner with Marketing Operations, Data, Finance, Brand, and Creative, and use attribution and customer-journey data to inform investment decisions. It will also drive channel, audience, and creative experimentation and establish scalable execution practices and AI-enabled workflows.

Requirements

  • At least 8 years of experience in performance marketing, paid acquisition, or digital media, including demonstrated experience scaling multichannel advertising programs.
  • Direct experience managing more than $30 million in annual paid media spend, with measurable impact on customer acquisition and revenue growth.
  • Deep expertise in performance marketing and acquisition economics, including lifetime value, ROI, incremental revenue, and revenue-based optimization.
  • Proven ability to develop full-funnel media strategies that connect upper-funnel brand investments to improvements in downstream demand, conversion, and revenue.
  • Deep hands-on expertise in online video, connected TV, programmatic, and brand media, plus strong paid social experience across LinkedIn and Meta; working knowledge of paid search.
  • Strong financial acumen, including budget ownership, forecasting, investment modeling, and data-driven allocation of spend across channels.
  • Strong analytical judgment and experience turning attribution, customer-journey, and campaign-performance data into actionable investment decisions.
  • Demonstrated ability to assess and improve campaign structure, channel strategy, and creative performance through rigorous testing and rapid iteration.
  • Strong creative judgment and experience partnering with Brand and Design teams to develop and optimize performance-oriented static and video advertising.
  • Experience leading and developing high-performing teams, with a hands-on leadership style and the ability to scale execution without unnecessary organizational complexity.
  • Curious, action-oriented problem-solving approach, with a track record of challenging existing strategies, making decisions with imperfect information, and executing quickly.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience scaling performance marketing in both high-volume B2C or product-led growth environments and B2B, sales-led businesses.
  • Experience transitioning media buying from an agency-led model to an in-house team, including evaluating managed-service partners.
  • Experience developing incrementality testing, media mix modeling, or advanced full-funnel measurement frameworks.
  • Experience in fintech, financial services, or high-growth technology companies.
  • Experience leveraging AI and automation to improve media execution, analysis, and team productivity.

Responsibilities

  • Own paid media strategy and investment across Brand and Growth, with accountability for qualified pipeline, self-serve signups, and resulting revenue; translate brand campaign vision and KPIs into full-funnel media plans.
  • Manage and optimize a growing multimillion-dollar media budget, balancing acquisition volume, lifetime value, and incremental revenue contribution.
  • Build an in-house digital media center of excellence, transition brand media buying from a traditional agency model, and strategically leverage platforms and managed services.
  • Scale paid search and paid social programs, including LinkedIn and Meta, and expand investment in YouTube, connected TV, programmatic, and other upper-funnel channels.
  • Develop an integrated full-funnel investment strategy that connects demand creation and brand awareness to downstream acquisition, pipeline, and revenue outcomes.
  • Partner with Marketing Operations, Data, and Finance to improve measurement, forecasting, budget pacing, and investment allocation across channels.
  • Translate attribution and customer-journey data into actionable insights and build reporting and analytical frameworks to inform media strategy and optimization.
  • Drive rapid experimentation across channels, audiences, and creative; identify opportunities to restructure underperforming campaigns and scale successful investments.
  • Partner with Brand and Creative teams on high-performing static and video advertising, providing actionable feedback on messaging, formats, and creative effectiveness.
  • Lead and develop a growing performance marketing team, establishing accountability, scalable execution practices, and AI-enabled workflows.
