Yourgi Director of Product

Yourgi Pet•Washington, NV
•$195,000 - $245,000•Remote

About The Position

Yourgi is seeking a Director of Product to own product strategy across five teams and lead Product day to day. The role covers both sides of Yourgi’s business: a marketplace connecting pet parents with independent service professionals, and software that helps professionals and centers manage and offer bookings. Yourgi operates on the web and native iOS and Android apps and is live in five markets, with plans to expand. The Director of Product reports to the Chief Product & Technology Officer and leads four product managers across five teams: Bookings, Match, Pro, Connect, and Centers. Each team owns a customer journey end to end and partners with an engineering lead and a designer. The Director will develop and maintain a product strategy grounded in customer evidence, market and competitor understanding, and unit economics. They will translate that strategy into quarterly team goals and a prioritized roadmap, set up a regular business review, and ensure initiatives are tied to measurable outcomes. The role emphasizes testing product bets before scaling, using methods such as prototypes, fake-door tests, concierge pilots, and A/B tests, with success metrics and kill criteria defined in advance. The Director will also make AI a routine part of product workflows, including research synthesis, specification drafting, and experiment analysis. The role includes hiring, coaching, and developing product managers, setting a high bar for product craft, and giving each manager ownership of a business metric along with the data and authority to influence it. The Director represents Product to the leadership team, reports on performance and risks, and presents plans to achieve goals. They own product quality outcomes, including booking defect and reliability metrics, and partner with the VP of Engineering on scope and capacity while maintaining focus on business goals. The position is remote within the United States, requires authorization to work in the US without visa sponsorship, and involves working during regular US business hours. Some travel is expected for leadership offsites and team gatherings. Meetings run on Microsoft Teams. Compensation is a $195,000–$245,000 base salary plus a 20% bonus.

Requirements

  • 10+ years of product management experience, including at least 3 years managing product managers.
  • Has rebuilt a product team’s discovery, specification, or analysis workflow around AI tools and uses AI daily in their own work.
  • Has directly owned a conversion, revenue, or retention metric and can explain the product decisions behind it.
  • Has built product strategy from customer and market evidence, set metric-based goals, and driven execution.
  • Has validated bets quickly, from prototypes to A/B tests, using sample sizing and guardrail metrics, and scaled or stopped them based on results.
  • Can conduct self-serve analytics by writing SQL or building analyses in a tool such as Mixpanel or Amplitude.
  • Experience with a two-sided marketplace or software used by service businesses, such as salons, clinics, fitness studios, or home services.
  • Authorized to work in the United States; visa sponsorship is not available.
  • Able to work during regular US business hours.

Nice To Haves

  • Has built a goal and metric system from scratch.
  • Pet care industry experience.

Responsibilities

  • Maintain one prioritized roadmap across the five teams, with each item tied to the goal it advances.
  • Run Product’s weekly business review and manage follow-up actions.
  • Test product bets using appropriately lightweight methods, define success metrics and kill criteria in advance, and scale, change, or stop bets based on results.
  • Use AI by default for research synthesis, specification drafts, and experiment analysis, and train the team to work this way.
  • Hire, coach, and develop product managers and set the bar for product craft.
  • Give each product manager a business number to own, with the data and authority to influence it.
  • Build a team that works across support, sales, marketing, and operations to achieve results, doing the work directly when that is faster.
  • Represent Product to the leadership team by presenting current numbers, risks, and plans to meet goals.
  • Own booking quality outcomes, including defect and reliability metrics, alongside conversion.
  • Partner with the VP of Engineering on scope and capacity while holding to business goals.
  • Deliver a written product strategy and set goals with each team during the first 90 days.
