About The Position

The Director of Marketing is responsible for leading the organization’s marketing strategy to strengthen brand awareness, increase community engagement, and support the growth of the organization’s retail and donation efforts. This role develops and implements marketing strategies that communicate the organization's mission and impact, strengthen its brand presence, accelerate company growth, and drive revenue. Responsibilities include evaluating and developing innovative marketing strategies, planning and coordinating marketing initiatives, analyzing data and monitoring KPIs, and ensuring clear and consistent communication across all platforms. The Marketing Director provides leadership to the marketing team while collaborating closely with other departments to support organizational goals, promote the company’s brand, and expand its presence within the communities it serves.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in business, marketing, communications, or a related field.
  • 5+ years of experience providing leadership and oversight of a marketing department and team or a similar functional area.
  • Experience developing brand messaging and communication strategies.
  • Proven experience planning and executing unique marketing campaigns.
  • Strong understanding of digital marketing strategies including social media marketing, content marketing, and online advertising.
  • Experience managing marketing budgets and evaluating marketing performance.
  • Experience overseeing, interacting with, or supporting public relations initiatives and campaigns.
  • Competency in Microsoft applications including Word, Excel, Outlook, and Teams.
  • Competency in the Adobe Suite applications including Photoshop, InDesign, and Illustrator.
  • Understanding of AI applications and the influence of utilization in marketing strategies.
  • Knowledge of web analytics tools such as Google Analytics or similar platforms.

  • Experience with interacting, overseeing, or supporting customer loyalty programs preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Supervising the marketing department and providing leadership, guidance, and feedback to marketing professionals.
  • Communicating marketing strategies and plans clearly to internal teams and organizational leadership.
  • Supporting other departments' public-facing communication, marketing, and design needs to help achieve their operational goals.
  • Coordinating with The CommunityAid Foundation on co-branding, communication efforts, and shared initiatives.
  • Evaluating and developing comprehensive marketing strategies and annual marketing plans.
  • Planning, directing, and coordinating marketing initiatives that support organizational growth and brand visibility.
  • Conducting research to understand market demand, customer behavior, and emerging trends.
  • Performing competitor and market analysis to inform strategic decision making.
  • Identifying potential customers and audiences and developing strategies to effectively reach and engage them and drive brand loyalty.
  • Contributing to organizational strategic planning by identifying marketing opportunities that support long-term growth and community impact.
  • Developing messaging that effectively communicates the organization's mission, community impact, and value to donors, consumers, and stakeholders.
  • Building brand awareness and maintaining consistent brand standards across all communication channels.
  • Ensuring consistent brand voice and messaging across all internal and external communications.
  • Leading creative direction for marketing assets including graphic design, photography, and visual storytelling.
  • Overseeing production of high-quality content for the company's online presence, publications, and marketing materials.
  • Overseeing the organization's digital presence including website content, social media platforms, email communications, and online advertising initiatives.
  • Developing and managing advertising and promotional campaigns across multiple platforms.
  • Developing promotional events, campaigns, and community engagement activities and ensuring they are executed efficiently.
  • Supporting initiatives that drive loyalty, store traffic, donor engagement, and customer transactions.
  • Supporting sales and lead generation initiatives through strategic marketing campaigns.
  • Overseeing and supporting public relations initiatives and campaigns that strengthen the organization's community presence and reputation.
  • Identifying opportunities to increase visibility through media engagement, community partnerships, and public outreach efforts.
  • Coordinating marketing projects from concept through execution while managing timelines and resources.
  • Understanding and managing marketing budgets, including expenditures, return-on-investment analysis, and cost effectiveness of campaigns.
  • Monitoring campaign performance and marketing initiatives, preparing reports and insights and pivot strategies for leadership.
