About The Position

California State University, Los Angeles (Cal State LA) is seeking a Director of Marketing for LA Online. This role provides strategic and operational leadership for digital marketing and demand generation for Cal State LA's online learning enterprise, LA Online, within the College of Professional and Global Education (PaGE). The Director will lead the creation and development of the new Cal State LA | LA Online brand, focusing on performance marketing, brand positioning, and lifecycle communications for online degree, certificate, and extension credit programs targeting adult and professional learners. As a key leader in an internal Online Program Management (OPM) model, the Director is responsible for building and optimizing a data-driven marketing operation to increase qualified demand, improve enrollment yield, and reduce cost per acquisition, while maintaining institutional ownership of strategy, data, and outcomes.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree from an accredited four-year college or university in marketing, communications, business, or a related field.
  • Minimum of three years of progressively responsible experience in digital marketing, enrollment marketing, or performance marketing.
  • Demonstrate an interest or ability in working in a multicultural/multiethnic environment.
  • Must reside in the State of California.
  • Must complete a background check satisfactorily.
  • Must file Conflict of Interest forms.
  • Must comply with the California Child Abuse and Neglect Reporting Act.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience in marketing online degree or professional education programs.
  • Experience working within or alongside an internal or hybrid OPM model.
  • Advanced experience with CRM and marketing automation platforms.
  • Strong background in paid media, SEO/SEM, attribution modeling, and conversion rate optimization.
  • Demonstrated ability to use data to drive enrollment growth and efficiency.
  • Experience managing vendors while maintaining institutional ownership of strategy.
