•$130,000 - $140,000•Hybrid

About The Position

Bay Area Community Resources (BACR) is seeking a strategic, adaptable, and narrative-driven Director of Marketing and Communications to steward its brand, culture, and external presence. Reporting directly to the CEO, the role combines strategic leadership with day-to-day engagement: building cohesive internal communications that unite a geographically distributed workforce while increasing BACR’s brand visibility across the Bay Area. This is a pivotal position for an empathetic communicator, skilled storyteller, and collaborative leader who thrives in a mission-focused environment and can translate complex organizational initiatives into inspiring stories. The Director will lead internal communications, culture, and employee engagement; establish clear systems for information to flow between leadership and staff; manage BACR’s intranet community; and promote consistent internal branding and transparent dialogue. Externally, the role will advance BACR’s brand presence and strategy, oversee communications channels and organizational profiles, coordinate executive visibility, manage crisis communications, and partner with leadership and development teams on fundraising and donor engagement communications. The position is hybrid in the San Francisco Bay Area. Remote work is possible, with occasional meetings at the BACR office or other locations. Some travel may be required, though it is not expected to be significant. The stated annual compensation range is $130,000–$140,000. BACR describes itself as a mission-driven organization promoting the healthy development of individuals, families, and communities through direct services, volunteerism, and partnerships.
