About The Position

The Director of Marketing and Brand Development will own the strategy and execution that takes The Healed Mom Program from a proven pilot to a recognized national initiative. This is a founding leadership role. The Director will have full ownership of brand positioning, digital and social growth, earned media, podcast and speaking placements, and national awareness campaigns, and will serve as the primary architect of the program's public voice. The ideal candidate combines strategic marketing expertise with a deep respect for the people this program serves. They understand that marketing to grieving and traumatized mothers requires clinical sensitivity, ethical restraint, and emotional intelligence, and they can translate research-grounded messaging into stories that move mothers, donors, clinicians, and institutional partners to act.

Requirements

  • Master's degree in Marketing, Communications, Public Relations, Journalism, Business Administration (MBA), Public Health, Nonprofit Management, or a closely related field.
  • Minimum of seven years of progressive marketing, brand, or communications experience, including at least three years in a leadership role.
  • Demonstrated success scaling a brand, program, or organization from regional to national visibility.
  • Proven record of securing podcast, broadcast, and earned media placements, with an established network of media contacts.
  • Advanced expertise in social media strategy, paid digital advertising, analytics, SEO, and email marketing platforms.
  • Exceptional writing, storytelling, and editing skills, with the ability to adapt voice for clinical, donor, and consumer audiences.
  • Experience managing budgets, vendors, and cross-functional projects.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and execute a multi-year national brand and marketing strategy aligned with organizational growth, enrollment, and fundraising goals.
  • Serve as steward of The Healed Mom brand, maintaining consistent voice, visual identity, and messaging across all channels and materials.
  • Build distinct messaging frameworks for key audiences, including mothers and families, donors and philanthropic partners, clinicians and referral sources, health systems, faith communities, and corporate partners.
  • Position the program as the leading national voice on maternal healing within family recovery.
  • Own organic and paid strategy across Instagram, Facebook, LinkedIn, TikTok, YouTube, Threads, Pinterest, and emerging platforms.
  • Build and manage a content calendar that aligns with national awareness observances, including Maternal Mental Health Awareness Week, International Overdose Awareness Day, National Recovery Month, World Suicide Prevention Day, and National Family Caregivers Month.
  • Grow followers, engagement, reach, and conversions through data-driven testing and optimization.
  • Oversee website content, SEO, email marketing, and lead-nurture sequences that move prospective participants toward enrollment.
  • Develop short-form video, founder-led thought leadership, and testimonial content in partnership with the Executive Director.
  • Secure regular podcast interviews, television and radio segments, print and digital features, and op-ed placements for the Founder and program leadership.
  • Build and maintain relationships with journalists, producers, podcast hosts, and editors in health, parenting, recovery, faith, women's leadership, and philanthropy.
  • Pitch and secure keynote and panel opportunities at national conferences, including behavioral health, addiction medicine, maternal health, nonprofit, and women's leadership events.
  • Prepare media kits, talking points, press releases, briefing documents, and interview preparation materials.
  • Manage crisis communications and rapid-response messaging when needed.
  • Identify and cultivate celebrity, influencer, and ambassador relationships that align with the program's mission and values.
  • Develop co-marketing initiatives with corporate, luxury brand, health system, faith-based, and community partners.
  • Build referral-marketing relationships with treatment centers, intervention specialists, clinicians, and family support organizations.
  • Support signature events and cultivation experiences in coordination with development leadership.
  • Design and execute enrollment campaigns that communicate the program's exclusivity, limited cohort availability, and clinical depth.
  • Partner with the Executive Director on donor-facing materials, including two-sheeters, pitch decks, impact reports, and campaign assets.
  • Lead marketing for GivingTuesday, year-end giving, and major awareness-month campaigns.
  • Establish KPIs and a marketing dashboard tracking reach, engagement, media placements, leads, enrollment conversions, and donor acquisition.
  • Report performance monthly to the Executive Director and quarterly to the Board.
  • Manage the marketing budget, vendors, agencies, freelancers, and interns, and build the marketing team as the organization scales.
  • Follow safe messaging guidelines for suicide and overdose communication.
  • Protect participant privacy in accordance with HIPAA and 42 CFR Part 2, and obtain informed written consent for any testimonial or story.
  • Comply with FTC endorsement guidelines for influencer and testimonial content.
  • Present outcome data and research claims accurately, with appropriate citation and clinical review.
  • Use non-stigmatizing, person-first, trauma-informed language in all materials.
