About The Position

The Director of Information Technology (IT) provides strategic and operational leadership for the company's information technology, cybersecurity, and infrastructure functions. This role is responsible for developing and executing an IT strategy that enables business growth while protecting company and customer information assets. The IT Director leads the internal IT, Help Desk, Information Security, and internal DevOps/DevSecOps teams and ensures secure, reliable technology services that support employees, customers, and product delivery. The Director will ensure successful adoption of technologies across Tangram, including AI tooling, while also focusing on security and automating processes in order to enable our rapid growth. This leader balances security, usability, innovation, and operational excellence while fostering a high-performing technical organization. The role partners closely with the CTO, Engineering, Product, Program Management, Operations and Leadership to ensure technology capabilities support business objectives, customer requirements, and regulatory compliance.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Information Systems, Cybersecurity, Engineering, or a related technical discipline or equivalent combination of education and progressively responsible experience may be considered.
  • 10+ years of progressive IT leadership experience with 5 of those years leading technical teams and engineers
  • Experience leading enterprise IT operations within a highly regulated environment.
  • Experience overseeing cybersecurity compliance programs.
  • Experience managing DevOps and cloud infrastructure teams.
  • Demonstrated experience with cloud computing (ex. AWS), DevOps concepts (ex. containers, infrastructure-as-code), and relevant technologies (ex. Kubernetes, Gitlab)
  • Demonstrated experience with networking, firewalls/routing, defense-in-depth, and local system administration
  • Experience with the following technology: Operating systems – Windows, Linux, and MacOS
  • Experience with the following technology: Cloud computing infrastructure – AWS (preferred), Azure, or Google Cloud
  • Experience with the following technology: Business productivity software – Google Workspace (preferred) and/or Microsoft Office 365
  • Ability to maintain required security clearance or Active Top Secret security clearance.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience designing, implementing, and managing secure computing environments supporting classified programs, CUI, and Department of Defense customers, and CMMC.
  • Certifications such as CISSP,Security+, Certified Information Security Manager (CISM), and/orITIL Foundation, andMicrosoft, AWS, Azure, VMware, Kubernetes, or other relevant infrastructure certifications
  • Experience with relevant technologies including: Single Sign On – Okta(preferred), Keycloak, or Microsoft Entra ID
  • Experience with relevant technologies including: Collaboration Platforms – Slack(preferred), Teams, or similar
  • Experience with relevant technologies including: Development and automation tools - Gitlab (preferred), Github, Atlassian

Responsibilities

  • Develop and execute the company's IT roadmap aligned with business objectives and the technical strategy for the company.
  • Lead and mentor a multidisciplinary team responsible for enterprise IT, Help Desk, Information Security, and internal DevOps/DevSecOps.
  • Establish departmental priorities, staffing plans, budgets, and performance objectives.
  • Establish and maintain information technology policies, procedures and standards aligned with the company’s goals.
  • Build a team culture focused on customer service, accountability, operational excellence, and continuous improvement.
  • Evaluate emerging technologies and recommend investments that improve security, productivity, scalability, and employee collaboration.
  • Perform supervisory roles such as recruiting, hiring, training staff, evaluating employee performance, and recommending or initiating promotions, transfers, and disciplinary action.
  • Oversee enterprise infrastructure including cloud environments, networks, endpoints, collaboration platforms, identity management, and business applications.
  • Ensure high availability, reliability, and performance of corporate technology services.
  • Oversee internal DevOps/DevSecOps team and cloud infrastructure to ensure reliable access to services for the organization, repeatable automation, and industry best practices like infrastructure-as-code are adhered to.
  • Ensure effective and secure user technology is available for business success, including laptops, printers, network infrastructure, and mobile devices.
  • Direct IT service management processes including help desk ticketing and incident response, problem management, asset management, and change management to deliver exceptional internal customer support.
  • Review enterprise IT documentation to ensure it meets company standards and applicable regulatory requirements.
  • Provide basic education to the team on key enterprise technology
  • Negotiate vendor contracts and manage technology partnerships.
  • Optimize technology investments while maintaining operational excellence.
  • Provide oversight of the Information Security program including the ISSE and ISSM roles.
  • With the ISSM, ensure Tangram’s ability to maintain compliance with CMMC and applicable NIST 800-171, NIST 800-53, DFARS, and other government security requirements.
  • Oversee vulnerability management, risk assessments, security monitoring, identity and access management, incident response, and security awareness.
  • Partner with Engineering to embed security throughout the software development lifecycle.
  • Oversee the administration, operation, and continuous improvement of secure computing environments supporting classified and Controlled Unclassified Information (CUI), ensuring compliance with customer, contractual, and regulatory requirements.
  • Oversee the design, implementation, accreditation, and maintenance of secure computing environments across multiple security domains, balancing operational effectiveness with rigorous security controls.
  • Partner with Engineering and Security teams to enable secure development, testing, deployment, and sustainment within classified and unclassified computing environments.
  • Evaluate and implement collaboration technologies that improve productivity while protecting sensitive information.
  • Develop governance for responsible adoption of AI technologies within security and compliance requirements.
  • Balance innovation with appropriate security controls and acceptable risk.
  • Identify opportunities to automate manual processes and improve operational efficiency.
