About the position
The job overview for the Director of Engineering, Ads Marketplace at Cardlytics is to manage and lead a team focused on optimizing ads delivery for the Cardlytics Ads marketplace. The ideal candidate should have a proven track record in marketplace optimizations and strong hands-on experience in machine learning techniques used in AdTech. They will be responsible for setting the vision, yearly plan, and quarterly plan for the team, as well as influencing the technical direction for the company. This role is critical to the core business of the company and requires strong communication skills and the ability to collaborate with product and engineering teams.
Responsibilities
- Collaborate closely and build rapport with product and engineering teams
- Set the vision, yearly plan, and quarterly plan for the team
- Manage a small but mighty team of Machine Learning and Data engineers
- Quickly prototype hypotheses
- Design and develop Ad optimization workflows and concepts at scale
- Influence the technical direction for the team and company
Requirements
- Masters in Computer Science or equivalent
- 5+ years experience managing a small and mighty team of experienced ICs
- 5+ years hands-on experience leveraging cutting-edge machine learning techniques and advancements in industry, with a proven impact on company metrics
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
- PhD in Computer Science or equivalent (preferred)
- Proven track record in digital media and ad technology, including ads optimizations (preferred)
