Director of Business Systems

Wilks Brothers•Fort Worth, TX
•Onsite

About The Position

The Director of Business Systems owns how Equify Financial’s core business applications support company operations. This hands-on, high-ownership role works directly with business units to understand process and system issues, define requirements, determine whether the appropriate response is a system fix, configuration or process change, vendor remediation, user training, or new development, and remain accountable through testing, rollout, and results. The role is the technology point of contact for teams across origination, servicing, collections, accounting, and asset management. It owns intake and prioritization of system change requests, maintains the core-platform roadmap in partnership with the CTO, and defines work internally before engaging external vendors. Equify’s connected platforms cover origination, servicing, CRM, and accounting, supported by a data lakehouse. The position develops working knowledge of these platforms and their related business processes to distinguish system limitations from process issues. The Director reports directly to the CTO and works with internal engineers, external partners, vendors, business users, executive leadership, and reporting and analytics. The role is based in Equify’s Fort Worth office and is not eligible for remote or hybrid work.

Requirements

  • At least 5 years of experience in a product owner, product manager, business analyst, or business systems role.
  • Background in commercial finance, lending, or leasing.
  • Working command of origination, credit, servicing, and collections processes and terminology upon arrival.
  • Demonstrated ownership of work from requirements through production, including user acceptance testing.

  • Working proficiency with SQL, or the ability to develop it quickly.
  • Business-oriented approach; understands the work the business performs, not only the software it uses.
  • Ability to take an undefined problem, define it, decide a course of action, and remain accountable for the result.
