Director, Business Systems

Aurora Solar
•$164,900 - $267,700

About The Position

Aurora Solar is hiring a Director of Business Systems to lead the systems that power quote-to-cash, go-to-market, and finance operations. The role leads a small, experienced team and owns how HubSpot, Salesforce, Continuous, Zuora, NetSuite, and the broader commercial technology stack work together. This is a hands-on leadership position that defines systems architecture and roadmaps in partnership with leaders across Finance, Sales, Marketing, Operations, and Product, while staying close to system configuration to support the team and inform technical trade-offs. Business Systems sits within Finance and supports RevOps systems, usage and billing, and marketing operations. Its scope covers the customer journey from first lead through cash collection for sales-led and self-serve customers. The team partners with Accounts Receivable, FP&A, Deal Desk, Sales, Marketing, Data Analytics, and Product to evolve systems as Aurora’s products and monetization models grow. The goal is a scalable, well-documented systems stack that supports new products, pricing models, and geographies. The Director will automate quote-to-cash across sales-led and self-serve purchases, develop scalable architecture, serve as a strategic partner to Finance and GTM leaders, and build effective team practices for intake, prioritization, and roadmap delivery. The role also owns process and architecture documentation, technology-stack simplification, systems governance, vendor relationships, the team budget, SOX-ready controls, and practical applications of AI.

Requirements

  • 12+ years of experience in business systems, revenue operations systems, or finance systems.
  • At least 4 years of experience leading teams.
  • Deep, hands-on experience with Salesforce CPQ or Revenue Cloud and a subscription billing platform such as Zuora.
  • Working knowledge of NetSuite or a comparable ERP.
  • Strong understanding of quote-to-cash and order-to-revenue processes in a B2B SaaS business, including usage-based or hybrid pricing.
  • Track record leading system and billing implementations, migrations, integrations, or re-architectures from requirements definition through rollout.
  • Experience managing change management and release processes, including environment management, testing, and disciplined deployment practices.
  • Experience establishing data governance and hygiene standards across CRM, billing, and ERP systems.
  • Ability to explain technical trade-offs to Finance and GTM executives in clear, accessible language.
  • Experience establishing intake, sprint, or backlog practices for a systems team.
  • Sound judgment about when to configure, customize, integrate, or adapt the underlying process.
  • Experience managing contractors, systems vendors, and implementation partners within budget, including statements of work and renewals.
  • Familiarity with revenue recognition (ASC 606) and SOX IT general controls as they apply to finance systems.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience in solar, energy, or other hardware-adjacent SaaS markets.
  • Experience supporting self-serve or product-led purchasing alongside a sales-led motion.
  • Experience configuring systems for international expansion, including multi-currency, multi-entity, and regional tax requirements.
  • Experience with Salesforce Revenue Cloud (RCA), Continuous, or similar usage-metering tools.
  • Familiarity with marketing automation platforms and lead-to-opportunity processes.
  • Salesforce, Zuora, or NetSuite certifications.

Responsibilities

  • Lead the systems that support quote-to-cash, go-to-market, and finance operations, including a small, experienced team.
  • Own the commercial systems stack, including Salesforce, Continuous, Zuora, NetSuite, Gainsight, HubSpot, integrations, Snowflake data flows, and other RevOps tools.
  • Define systems architecture and the roadmap in partnership with Finance, Sales, Marketing, Operations, and Product leaders.
  • Automate quote-to-cash for sales-led and self-serve purchases across geographies, ensuring usage, billing, and renewals flow between Salesforce, Continuous, Zuora, and NetSuite with clean data and no manual intervention.
  • Build scalable systems architecture to support new campaigns, products, pricing models, and geographies without custom workarounds.
  • Act as a strategic partner to Finance and go-to-market leaders.
  • Develop a self-organizing team that uses automation and AI to manage intake, backlog, and prioritization while balancing urgent fixes with roadmap delivery.
  • Document and streamline processes and systems architecture; identify gaps and edge cases and prioritize improvements that support scale.
  • Simplify the technology stack, reduce costs, consolidate platforms, and retire tools that are no longer needed.
  • Own systems governance, vendor relationships, and the team’s budget, including SOX-ready controls and practical applications of AI.
  • Lead system and billing implementations, migrations, integrations, or re-architectures from requirements definition through rollout.
  • Establish and manage change-management and release processes, including environment management, testing, and disciplined deployment practices.
  • Establish data governance and hygiene standards across CRM, billing, and ERP systems.
  • Manage contractors, systems vendors, and implementation partners within budget, including statements of work and renewals.
