Director of Agent Growth

Orchard•Austin, TX
•$150,000 - $220,000•Hybrid

About The Position

Orchard is hiring a sales leader to build and lead the engine for attracting and retaining real estate agents. The role owns agent acquisition end to end, including growth targets, team, process, and tools. Orchard’s goal is to bring on two to three times as many quality agents each month as it does today while maintaining or improving retention. Agent quality is measured by the company revenue agents generate, not solely by headcount. The Director will build a measurable outbound sales motion across target markets, manage the recruiting funnel, and coordinate agent acquisition across outbound, referrals, inbound inquiries, team recruiting, and new-market launches. The role will partner with product, data, and operations teams on recruiting systems and candidate experience, design incentives that reward profitable agent outcomes, and ensure new agents transition smoothly to their market managers. This is a full-time role reporting to the President. It may be based in an Orchard hiring location; Austin, Denver, and New York City are preferred. For New York City-based employees, the role is hybrid with two days per week in the office.

  • At least 4–5 years managing sales representatives against monthly or quarterly targets.

  • Experience managing performance through funnel metrics and identifying weak stages and appropriate actions.
  • A track record of hiring, coaching, and making performance decisions when needed.
  • Experience designing or managing variable compensation that drives desired behavior.
  • Comfort working at a fast pace and with ambiguity.
  • Strong verbal and written communication and sales skills.
