About The Position

As the Director, IT Portfolio Management, you will be responsible for overseeing the full lifecycle of technology initiatives to ensure they align with strategic business objectives and deliver measurable value. This role focuses on portfolio strategy, prioritization, governance, performance optimization, and enterprise‑level decision enablement. You and your team will oversee a holistic portfolio of programs, projects, and transformation initiatives, providing visibility, governance, and insight to ensure the organization is investing in the right work—not just executing efficiently. Operating as a strategic advisor to senior leadership, this role plays a critical part in shaping strategy execution across the digital and technology landscape.

Requirements

  • 10+ years of experience in IT portfolio management, transformation leadership, or technology operations required
  • Proven experience leading large, complex, multi-year transformation and portfolio initiatives
  • Strong understanding of enterprise architecture, software delivery, sourcing, and IT financial management
  • Demonstrated success leading and scaling teams in a matrixed enterprise environment
  • Exceptional strategic, analytical, and executive communication skills
  • Bachelor’s degree in Information Systems, Computer Science, Business, Engineering, or related field required

Nice To Haves

  • Master’s degree or MBA preferred
  • Certifications such as PfMP, PMP, PgMP, ITIL, or Agile preferred

Responsibilities

  • Define and maintain the enterprise IT portfolio strategy and roadmap aligned to corporate objectives.
  • Ensure portfolio investments maximize business value, support transformation goals, and advance long‑term technology strategy.
  • Serve as the primary liaison between executive sponsors, business leaders, and technology teams.
  • Oversee intake, prioritization, and approval processes for new and ongoing initiatives.
  • Ensure compliance with internal controls, enterprise architecture standards, and regulatory requirements.
  • Define and maintain portfolio-level metrics, dashboards, and executive reporting to track progress, benefits realization, risks, and dependencies
  • Implement risk mitigation plans and ensure transparent escalation for high‑impact issues.
  • Lead and coach a team on portfolio management best practices, strategic thinking and leadership to cultivate an accountability-driven culture.
  • Lead IT vendor and asset optimization strategies to maximize value, manage spend, and improve operational efficiency
  • Drive continuous improvement of portfolio management, PMO processes, and governance maturity.
