Director, Business Development and Marketing

About The Position

This role is responsible for identifying and pursuing business opportunities within the aerospace and defense markets. The Director will develop and maintain relationships with key stakeholders, manage the business development pipeline, and coordinate with various internal departments to respond to new opportunities. This position also involves supporting proposal development, market research, customer engagement, and the creation of marketing materials. The Director will provide regular updates to leadership and support strategic planning for growth objectives, while representing the company professionally at industry events.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in business, Marketing, Engineering, or related field
  • 5+ years of experience in business development, sales, marketing, program management, or a related role.
  • Strong communication, presentation, and customer relationship skills
  • Ability to understand and communicate technical and manufacturing capabilities
  • Ability to travel as required.
  • Must be a U.S person as defined by 22 U.S.C § 6010

Nice To Haves

  • Aerospace, defense, or advanced manufacturing experience preferred
  • Experience with DoD customers, defense prime contractors, RFQs, and government contracting preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Identify and pursue business opportunities within aerospace and defense markets.
  • Develop and maintain relationships with existing and prospective customers, prime contractors, and government organizations.
  • Maintain and report the business development pipeline, including opportunities, RFQs, proposals, and upcoming solicitations.
  • Coordinate with Engineering, Operations, Supply Chain, Finance, and Program Management to evaluate and respond to new opportunities.
  • Support proposal development, pricing activities, customer presentations, and bid/no-bid decisions.
  • Research customer priorities, market trends, competitors, and future programs.
  • Coordinate customer visits, facility tours, conferences, and trade shows.
  • Develop and maintain capability presentations, brochures, website content, and other marketing materials.
  • Support Press releases, company announcements, and external communications.
  • Provide regular updates to leadership on customer activity, pipeline status, and major opportunities.
  • Support strategic planning and development of annual and long-term growth objectives.
  • Represent the company professionally at customer and industry events.
