About The Position

The Director, Business Development and Marketing will identify and pursue business opportunities within aerospace and defense markets. This role involves developing and maintaining relationships with customers, prime contractors, and government organizations, as well as managing the business development pipeline. The position requires coordination with various internal departments to evaluate and respond to new opportunities, support proposal development, and conduct market research. Additionally, the role involves creating marketing materials, supporting external communications, and representing the company at industry events. The Director will also contribute to strategic planning and provide regular updates to leadership.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in business, Marketing, Engineering, or related field
  • 5+ years of experience in business development, sales, marketing, program management, or a related role.
  • Strong communication, presentation, and customer relationship skills
  • Ability to understand and communicate technical and manufacturing capabilities
  • Ability to travel as required.
  • Must be a U.S person as defined by 22 U.S.C § 6010

Nice To Haves

  • Aerospace, defense, or advanced manufacturing experience preferred
  • Experience with DoD customers, defense prime contractors, RFQs, and government contracting preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Identify and pursue business opportunities within aerospace and defense markets.
  • Develop and maintain relationships with existing and prospective customers, prime contractors, and government organizations.
  • Maintain and report the business development pipeline, including opportunities, RFQs, proposals, and upcoming solicitations.
  • Coordinate with Engineering, Operations, Supply Chain, Finance, and Program Management to evaluate and respond to new opportunities.
  • Support proposal development, pricing activities, customer presentations, and bid/no-bid decisions.
  • Research customer priorities, market trends, competitors, and future programs.
  • Coordinate customer visits, facility tours, conferences, and trade shows.
  • Develop and maintain capability presentations, brochures, website content, and other marketing materials.
  • Support Press releases, company announcements, and external communications.
  • Provide regular updates to leadership on customer activity, pipeline status, and major opportunities.
  • Support strategic planning and development of annual and long-term growth objectives.
  • Represent the company professionally at customer and industry events.
