About The Position

Motherly is seeking an entrepreneurial, idea-first seller to develop and grow brand partnerships that turn the company’s mission into multi-format, cross-platform content for Gen Z and millennial parents. This senior individual-contributor role focuses on opening and growing relationships with brands and agencies in Finance, Insurance, and CPG, while expanding partnerships with endemic baby and parenting brands. The Director builds decks, proposals, and media plans; sells original IP and multi-platform programs; collaborates with content, creative, and marketing teams; and helps shape sellable content franchises. The role also maintains CRM and pipeline accuracy, upholds rate cards and deal minimums, and manages category-specific compliance and legal review. The role is remote, with Chicago, New York, and Los Angeles preferred, and requires travel as needed for client meetings and industry events.

Requirements

  • At least 10 years of experience in digital media sales, with a strong track record selling into Finance, Insurance, and/or CPG.
  • Demonstrated success building and managing an individual book of business generating $1.5 million or more in annual revenue, with an emphasis on net-new business acquisition.
  • A record of consistently exceeding sales targets and generating new business.
  • Experience selling customized cross-platform campaigns, particularly social-first video, podcasts, creator collaborations, and events.
  • Deep understanding of video as a sales product, including positioning, pricing, selling, and creative execution from concept to delivery.
  • Extensive contacts with decision-makers at brands and agencies in the target categories.
  • Strong understanding of monetization metrics, including lead generation, subscriptions, impressions versus views, and social engagement; ability to build and analyze media plans; and meticulous attention to detail.
  • Ability to independently create proposal decks and strategic plans with minimal supervision.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, a collaborative mindset, and ability to give and receive constructive feedback.
  • Willingness to travel as required for client meetings and industry events.
