About The Position

Zocdoc is seeking a Director, Acquisition, Provider Growth to build and lead a connected provider acquisition system. The role will define how Zocdoc identifies providers it can best serve, earns their attention, converts interest into action, and learns what drives durable growth. The director will own acquisition performance and investment decisions, balancing ROAS or payback and efficiency with incremental new active providers, MQL quality, conversion, and long-term provider value. The director will establish the strategy, roadmap, operating model, measurement framework, and reporting for provider acquisition. The role brings together account-based marketing (ABM), paid and organic search, website experiences, conversion-rate optimization, and field events around shared audiences, messaging, and provider needs. It calls for a hands-on builder who can work amid incomplete data and evolving foundations, run experiments, turn successful early efforts into repeatable capabilities, and recruit and develop a growing team. The position reports to the VP, Provider Growth and works closely with Sales, Product Marketing, Events, Marketing Operations, Data Science, and other growth leaders. The role is based in a flexible, hybrid work environment at Zocdoc’s Soho location. The NYC base salary range is $190,000–$240,000 USD; certain positions may also be eligible for variable pay and/or equity, with package details discussed by the recruiter.

Requirements

  • 5+ years hiring and managing teams.
  • Experience building acquisition capabilities from strategy through activation, conversion, measurement, and scale.
  • Deep expertise in performance marketing and strong working fluency across ABM, paid and organic search, SEO/AEO, website strategy, CRO, and field marketing.
  • Experience owning budgets and outcomes against measures including ROAS or payback, incremental acquisition, MQL quality, funnel conversion, and provider or customer LTV.
  • Analytical rigor, including the ability to design experiments, assess incrementality, understand attribution limits, and translate results into investment decisions.
  • Ability to connect channel performance to qualified pipeline, active providers, revenue, and durable provider value, and to make clear trade-offs between near-term efficiency and long-term growth.
  • Ability to build cross-functional partnerships and create focus, momentum, and accountability in ambiguous environments.
  • Clear communication and influence, including aligning senior stakeholders and giving a growing team focus, confidence, and momentum.

Responsibilities

  • Build the strategy, roadmap, and operating model for Provider Acquisition, and translate them into shipped programs and measurable business outcomes.
  • Own acquisition performance and investment decisions, delivering MQL volume and quality, improving conversion to active providers, growing incremental new active providers, meeting ROAS or payback expectations, and building long-term provider value.
  • Establish performance frameworks, data, instrumentation, attribution, and reporting that connect investment to MQLs, sign-ups, conversion, incremental lift, provider LTV, and revenue by segment, specialty, geography, account, and program.
  • Use channel reporting and incrementality testing to distinguish true impact from credited activity.
  • Define target audiences and markets, prioritize provider segments and account tiers, and match investment to opportunity across scalable reach and 1:1, 1:few, and 1:many ABM.
  • Bring ABM, paid and organic search, web experiences, CRO, and field events together as a connected growth system focused on shared audiences, messaging, and provider needs.
  • Run experiments across audiences, channels, creative, offers, landing pages, journeys, events, partnerships, and emerging tools; scale effective approaches and stop ineffective ones.
  • Partner with Sales, Product Marketing, Events, Marketing Operations, Data Science, and other growth leaders to align audience definitions, handoffs, priorities, and decisions.
  • Recruit, lead, coach, and develop the team; identify capability needs, hire, set a high bar, and create clarity across a growing portfolio of work.
  • Lead team priorities, planning, and operating cadence while remaining close to the work, shaping strategy, reviewing creative and experiences, interrogating performance, and resolving obstacles.
  • Build acquisition capabilities spanning strategy, activation, conversion, measurement, and scale.
  • Own budgets and outcomes against a rigorous scorecard, connect channel performance to qualified pipeline, active providers, revenue, and durable provider value, and make trade-offs between near-term efficiency and long-term growth.
  • Build cross-functional partnerships and create focus, momentum, and accountability in ambiguous environments; communicate clearly and influence senior stakeholders and the team.
