Direct Support Professional (DSP/SLS/ILS)- Pomona $500 SIGN-ON BONUS
About The Position
Redwood Family Care Network is hiring compassionate providers to support adults and adolescents with intellectual and developmental disabilities in Pomona, California. The role supports clients in their daily lives and may involve working in homes or schools. Duties include assisting with dietary, hygiene, bathing, grooming, dressing, restroom, and changing needs; supporting clients’ goals and independence; and helping provide a positive, life-enriching environment. This is a part-time position scheduled Fridays from 5:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. and Saturdays from 10:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. The hourly rate is $19.00–$20.00. A $500 sign-on bonus is paid after 90 days of employment. The position is not remote.
Requirements
- At least one year of experience supporting adults with seizures.
- High school diploma or GED.
- At least 21 years of age.
- Valid California driver’s license.
- Successfully pass all pre-employment requirements, including a background check.
- First Aid and CPR certification.
- Ability to lift 50 pounds.
- Ability to work indoors and outdoors in all weather conditions.
Nice To Haves
- One year of experience supporting adults with developmental disabilities is preferred.
- Crisis Prevention Intervention (CPI) certification is preferred, or willingness to obtain it within the first six months of hire.
Responsibilities
- Outline and prepare clients’ daily visual and active routines as written in their Individual Program Plans.
- Support residents’ needs and goals by participating in the development of IPP/ISP goals.
- Maintain a clean, safe, and healthy environment for clients.
- Take clients to visit family and friends and to preferred leisure and recreation activities, and encourage socializing with peers.
- Assist clients with personal care, including grooming, bathroom needs, and changing undergarments or clothing as needed.
- Help clients develop independent skills through self-care activities, including toileting, clothing routines, and personal hygiene.
- Prepare daily meals and assist with cleanup.
- Transport clients in a personal vehicle when needed; mileage is reimbursed.
- Report incidents or problems and communicate daily with administrators.
- Perform other assigned duties.
