Direct Support Professional (DSP) Brea $500 SIGN-ON BONUS
About The Position
Redwood Family Care Network is seeking a part-time Direct Support Professional in Brea, California, to provide person-centered support to adults with physical and developmental disabilities. The role assists individuals with daily living needs and supports their goals in positive, safe, and enriching environments. Redwood takes a zero-tolerance stance on abuse and neglect and is committed to the health and safety of the people it supports. The position pays $18.00–$20.00 per hour and offers AM and PM shifts. A $500 sign-on bonus is paid after 90 days of employment. The role is not remote. Applicants are subject to a background check and must successfully complete pre-employment requirements.
Requirements
- One year of experience supporting adults with developmental disabilities, crisis management, behavior management, and ABA.
- High school diploma or GED.
- Must be at least 21 years of age.
- Valid California driver’s license.
- Must pass pre-employment requirements, including a background check.
- Must have First Aid and CPR.
- Must be able to lift 50 pounds.
- Able to work indoors and outdoors in all weather conditions.
Nice To Haves
- CPI (Crisis Prevention Intervention) certification, or willingness to obtain it within the first six months of hire.
Responsibilities
- Outline and prepare clients’ daily routines as written in their Individual Program Plans.
- Participate in developing IPP/ISP goals and support each resident’s needs and goals.
- Maintain a clean, safe, and healthy environment for clients.
- Take clients to visit family and friends and to preferred leisure and recreation activities, and encourage socializing with peers.
- Assist clients with daily personal care, including dietary needs, hygiene, bathing, grooming, dressing, restroom needs, and changing undergarments or clothing as needed.
- Prepare daily meals and assist with clean-up.
- Transport clients in a personal vehicle when needed; mileage is reimbursed.
- Report incidents or problems and communicate daily with administrators.
- Perform other assigned duties.
