About The Position

Saint Joe’s Alice House Community Respite Program provides short-term, high-quality support for individuals with developmental disabilities. The environment is warm and welcoming, focused on building relationships, supporting independence, and creating joyful experiences.

The Direct Support Specialist provides personal care and companionship, assists with daily living tasks, mobility, and hygiene, and participates in recreational activities. The role supports residents’ physical and emotional well-being and builds respectful relationships with residents and families.

Requirements

• At least 18 years old.
• High school diploma or GED.
• Valid driver’s license with fewer than 6 points.
• Current auto insurance.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Compassionate, patient, and respectful demeanor.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Professionalism and calmness in high-stress situations.
