About The Position

The Direct Support Professional works in a respite program serving children and young adults with developmental disabilities. The role provides after-school or after-work supervision and support in a fun, supportive environment, while helping families access trusted care. The schedule is part-time, during afterschool hours of 2 p.m. to 6 p.m. The rate is $19 per hour, increasing to $20 per hour after successful completion of a six-month provisional period.

Requirements

• Must be 18 years of age or older.
• Must have a valid driver’s license that meets agency policy.
• Must have a high school diploma or GED.
• Must be able to meet the physical requirements of the position, including standing, walking, sitting, bending, stooping, squatting, kneeling, and climbing.
• Must be able to lift 35 pounds.
• Experience is a plus but is not required.
• Must be passionate about helping others and making a difference, and be patient, caring, and dependable.

Responsibilities

• Provide supervision and support for children and young adults after school or work during the hours of 2 p.m. to 6 p.m.
