Direct Support Professional (Respite Care)
About The Position
Creed Medical is hiring Direct Support Professionals (DSPs) to provide compassionate support to individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities. The DSP assists clients with daily living activities, promotes independence, and supports clients in achieving personal goals. The role involves working closely with clients, families, and the healthcare team to provide quality care and maintain a supportive environment. This is a part-time respite service position, which may be offered as PRN. Additional shifts may become available, with possible opportunities to increase hours through coverage for other clients or overtime, depending on availability. The stated respite services pay rate is $15–$17 per hour.
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Excellent communication, interpersonal, and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work flexible schedules, including evenings, weekends, and holidays.
Nice To Haves
- Prior experience in direct support or caregiving.
- Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation.
- CPR and First Aid certification, or willingness to obtain certification after hire.
Responsibilities
- Assist individuals with personal care, hygiene, meal preparation, and daily living tasks.
- Encourage and facilitate participation in social, recreational, and community activities.
- Implement and follow individualized support plans to enhance client independence.
- Document care activities accurately and report changes in client status.
- Maintain a safe and respectful environment for clients.
- Collaborate with team members and families to provide comprehensive care.
