About The Position
The Direct Support Specialist works in Saint Joe’s Alice House Community Respite Program, which provides short-term, high-quality support for individuals with developmental disabilities. The program offers a warm and welcoming environment focused on relationships, independence, and joyful experiences. This is a full-time, second-shift position at Winton Place in Cincinnati, Ohio. Every-other-weekend work and a holiday rotation are required.
Requirements
- Must be at least 18 years old.
- High school diploma or GED.
- Valid driver’s license with fewer than 6 points.
- Current auto insurance.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Compassionate, patient, and respectful demeanor.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Professionalism and calmness in high-stress situations.
Responsibilities
- Provide personal care and companionship.
- Assist with daily living tasks, mobility, and hygiene.
- Participate in recreational activities with residents.
- Build strong, respectful relationships with residents and families.
- Support each individual’s physical and emotional well-being.
