About The Position

Wall Residences is seeking full-time, experienced Direct Support Professionals for Supported Living and In-Home Care services in the Bumpass (Louisa County) and Montpelier (Hanover County), Virginia areas. Wall Residences provides community services to individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities. In this role, DSPs support individuals with daily living tasks, personal care, community participation, transportation, advocacy, and medication administration. Employees must keep accurate notes to support continuity of care. Hiring is dependent on references and a criminal background check free of barrier crimes. Employees are mandated reporters of abuse and neglect involving individuals with disabilities.

Requirements

Previous experience as a Direct Support Professional; the posting specifies experienced candidates.
Active driver's license with an acceptable driving record.
At least 3 years of driving experience.
No more than 2 moving violations or accidents within the past 3 years.
No major violations within the past 5 years.
References and a criminal background check free of barrier crimes are required for hiring.

Responsibilities

Assist individuals with laundry, cleaning, meal planning, cooking, and organizing.
Help individuals explore volunteer opportunities and enrich their lives.
Support individuals' personal care needs.
Provide transportation and advocacy for medical and dental appointments.
Assist with medication administration.
Keep accurate notes to ensure continuity of quality care.
Report abuse and neglect as mandated reporters.
