Direct Support Professional - Supported Living
About The Position
Wall Residences is seeking part-time, experienced Direct Support Professionals to provide Supported Living and In-Home Care services in the Williamsburg, Virginia area. The role supports individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities in their homes and communities, helping them with daily living, personal care, community activities, transportation, advocacy, and medication administration. Successful candidates are detail-oriented and able to keep accurate notes to support continuity of quality care. Employment is dependent on references and a criminal background check free of barrier crimes. Employees are mandated reporters of abuse and neglect for individuals with disabilities.
Requirements
- Experienced Direct Support Professional.
- Detail-oriented and able to keep accurate notes.
- Active driver’s license with an acceptable driving record.
- At least 3 years of driving experience.
- No more than 2 moving violations or accidents within the past 3 years.
- No major violations within the past 5 years.
- Hiring is dependent on references and a criminal background check free of barrier crimes.
Responsibilities
- Assist individuals with laundry, cleaning, meal planning, cooking, and organizing.
- Help individuals explore volunteer opportunities and enrich their lives.
- Support individuals’ personal care needs.
- Provide transportation and advocacy for medical and dental appointments.
- Assist with medication administration.
- Keep accurate notes to ensure continuity of quality care.
- Report abuse and neglect as mandated reporters.
