About The Position

We are seeking a full-time weekday Direct Support Professional (DSP) to provide hands-on care to women with intellectual and other developmental disabilities in Howard County/Durham. The role assists people supported with personal hygiene, activities and outings, social engagement, shopping, planning, cooking, and cleaning. The schedule is Monday through Friday, 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. The rate of pay is $22 per hour, and the position is non-exempt.

Requirements

• Must be at least 20 years of age.
• Must have 2 years of driving experience.
• Must have a current, non-provisional driver's license with fewer than 3 points on the driving record.
• Must be able to transport people supported as needed.
• Some lifting and transferring may be required.

Nice To Haves

• High school diploma or G.E.D. preferred.

Responsibilities

• Assist with participation in and exploration of the community.
• Cultivate and expand independent living skills.
• Provide assistance with personal hygiene, activities and outings, social engagement, shopping, planning, cooking, and cleaning.
• Assist with the development of meaningful and personal relationships.
• Complete required documentation, including incident reports, progress notes, behavior data, and fire drills.
• Administer and record medications pursuant to state and agency requirements, when applicable.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
