About The Position

We are seeking a full-time weekday Direct Support Professional (DSP) to provide hands-on care to women with intellectual and other developmental disabilities in Howard County/Brittany. The role supports personal hygiene, activities and outings, social engagement, shopping, planning, cooking, and cleaning.

The schedule is Monday through Friday, 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. The rate of pay is $22 per hour. The position is classified as non-exempt.

Requirements

• High school diploma or GED.
• Current driver’s license (not provisional) with fewer than 3 points on the driving record.
• Ability to transport people supported as needed.
• At least 2 years of driving experience.
• At least 20 years of age.
• Some lifting and transferring may be required.

Responsibilities

• Assist individuals with participation in and exploration of the community.
• Cultivate and expand independent living skills.
• Provide assistance with personal hygiene, activities and outings, social engagement, shopping, planning, cooking, and cleaning.
• Assist with developing meaningful and personal relationships.
• Complete required documentation, such as incident reports, progress notes, behavior data, and fire drills.
• Administer and record medications pursuant to state and agency requirements, when applicable.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
