Direct Support Professional - 000OW - THU-SAT 11PM -7AM, SUN 3PM-11PM
About The Position
WellLife Network is seeking a Direct Support Professional to help people with developmental disabilities and other support needs live as independently as possible in their homes and communities. The role provides hands-on care, encouragement, and advocacy, supporting individuals in daily living and helping them pursue personal goals and meaningful community connections. The position is located at College Point ICF in College Point, New York. The listed schedule is Thursday through Saturday, 11 p.m. to 7 a.m., and Sunday, 3 p.m. to 11 p.m. The listed pay is $19.71 per hour.
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalency diploma.
- Fluency in English for client communication.
- For driving positions, a valid New York State Driver’s License and at least two years of driving experience.
- For driving positions, comfort operating a large vehicle.
- Patience, compassion, and dedication to empowering others.

- Experience supporting adults with intellectual or developmental disabilities or behavioral health needs.
Responsibilities
- Assist with bathing, dressing, grooming, and toileting.
- Help with meal preparation and household chores, and maintain a safe, comfortable home environment.
- Administer medications as directed.
- Support individuals in attending medical appointments and following treatment plans.
- Assist with walking, transfers, and the use of mobility aids, supporting safe navigation of the environment.
- Implement respectful strategies to support behaviors and provide encouragement and reassurance.
- Plan and participate in recreational, educational, and social activities, and encourage involvement in community programs and events.
- Assist individuals in using communication tools or techniques to express themselves.
- Advocate for individuals’ needs, rights, and access to services.
- Collaborate with healthcare providers, therapists, and other team members.
- Maintain accurate and timely daily notes, progress reports, incident reports, and other required documentation in electronic systems.
