About The Position

Wesley Glen Ministries is hiring a part-time Residential Direct Support Professional to support adults with developmental disabilities in a group-home setting. The homes provide 24/7 care for four adults each. The DSP serves as a caregiver, advocate, mentor, and supporter, helping residents live as independently as possible and supporting their physical, emotional, and social well-being. The listed schedule is every other Saturday and Sunday, 7:00 AM to 7:00 PM. The position is based in Macon, Georgia, and pays $17 per hour.

Requirements

Be at least 21 years old.
Have a high school diploma or equivalent.
Have a valid driver’s license for at least three years and a clean seven-year driving history.
Pass a background check and drug screening.
Have CPR/First Aid certification or be willing to obtain it.
Be able to lift and carry more than 15 pounds and assist adults weighing up to 300 pounds.
Be comfortable working in varied conditions, including outdoor activities and occasional high-stress situations.
Be dependable, accountable, and punctual; treat residents with dignity and respect; communicate clearly; and adapt to a dynamic environment.

Responsibilities

Create and maintain a safe, clean, and engaging home environment.
Support residents with daily living skills, including meal preparation, hygiene, and housekeeping.
Manage and document residents’ medication.
Facilitate social activities and skill-building opportunities to encourage personal growth.
Document residents’ progress accurately and communicate updates to the team.
Drive residents to appointments, community events, and recreational activities.
Use problem-solving and flexibility to respond to challenges.
Be a reliable, punctual team member who is willing to step up when needed.
