About The Position

Lehigh Valley Companion Care Homes is seeking compassionate and reliable Direct Support Professionals to provide care and support to individuals with Intellectual and Developmental Disabilities residing in care homes. The role assists with personal care, promotes independence, and helps create a safe, supportive, and nurturing environment. Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Compassionate, patient, and respectful approach to care.
• Strong communication and teamwork skills.
• Ability to work flexible shifts, including weekends and holidays.
• Physical stamina and ability to assist with transfers and other care needs.

Nice To Haves

• Relevant certifications are a plus.
• Previous direct-care experience is preferred but not required; training is provided.

Responsibilities

• Assist individuals with bathing, grooming, dressing, toileting, and other personal care tasks.
• Administer medications and accurately document them according to prescribed schedules.
• Provide emotional support and foster positive relationships with individuals.
• Facilitate and participate in recreational and community activities.
• Observe and monitor residents’ health and report concerns.
• Implement individualized care plans and behavior support strategies.
• Maintain a clean, safe, and supportive living environment.
• Complete and maintain accurate care documentation and records.
