About The Position

ViaQuest Residential Services is hiring Direct Support Professionals to support individuals with developmental disabilities in their homes in Troy, Ohio, and surrounding areas. The role focuses on fostering individuals’ independence, choice, and empowerment while ensuring their health and safety. Training is provided in its entirety, and no prior experience is required. The posting advertises a pay range of $17.50–$18.50 per hour.

Walk-in/open interviews for residential locations take place every Monday from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. at the local office, 7695 Poe Ave., Dayton, OH 45414. Candidates are asked to bring an Ohio driver’s license, I-9 employment eligibility documents, an auto insurance card, and a diploma showing their highest level of education.

The position may involve direct care, supervision, teaching and assistance with daily activities, household tasks such as meal preparation and maintaining a clean and safe home, and personal care assistance. Candidates need a reliable personal vehicle that they are willing and able to use to transport individuals served.

Requirements

• Be at least 18 years of age.
• Have a high school diploma or GED.
• Have a personal, reliable vehicle and be willing and able to use it to transport individuals served.
• Have a valid driver’s license and car insurance.
• Meet ViaQuest’s Authorized Driver Criteria based on the Motor Vehicle Record.
• Be able to push, lift, or carry up to 50 pounds and climb, balance, kneel, and crouch.

Responsibilities

• Provide direct care and support to individuals with developmental disabilities, promoting independence, choice, and empowerment while ensuring their health and safety.
• Supervise, teach, and assist individuals in all aspects of their lives.
• Complete household tasks, including meal preparation and maintaining a clean and safe living environment.
• Provide personal care assistance.
• Use a personal vehicle to transport individuals served.
