Direct Support Professional (DSP)
About The Position
ViaQuest Residential Services is hiring Direct Support Professionals to support individuals with developmental disabilities in their homes. The role focuses on fostering independence, choice, and empowerment while ensuring individuals’ health and safety. Training is provided in its entirety, and no prior experience is required. The position is based in residential settings, with a local office listed at 7695 Poe Ave., Dayton, Ohio 45414. Requirements
- Must be at least 18 years of age.
- High school diploma or GED.
- Personal, reliable vehicle that the employee is willing and able to use to transport individuals served.
- Valid driver's license and car insurance.
- Motor Vehicle Record must meet ViaQuest's Authorized Driver Criteria.
- Ability to push, lift, or carry up to 50 pounds, and to climb, balance, kneel, and crouch.
- No prior experience is required; training is provided.
Responsibilities
- Provide direct care and support to individuals with developmental disabilities, promoting independence, choice, and empowerment while meeting health and safety needs.
- Supervise, teach, and assist individuals in all aspects of their lives.
- Complete household tasks, including meal preparation and maintaining a clean and safe living environment.
- Provide personal care assistance.
- Transport individuals served using a personal vehicle.
