About The Position

Dungarvin is hiring a Direct Support Professional (DSP) caregiver to provide direct support, positive direction, instruction, and assistance to individuals with mental, intellectual and developmental, and physical disabilities. The role aims to empower individuals to live as independently and comfortably as possible while maintaining their dignity and respect.

The DSP provides hands-on assistance, encouragement, mentoring, and guidance, and helps ensure the comfort, safety, and personal growth of the individuals served. Duties include assisting with daily living tasks, such as mobility, getting in and out of bed, dressing, bathing, toileting, and personal hygiene, as well as housekeeping and laundry.

Requirements

• Valid driver's license; the role requires comfort driving to transport people served as needed.
• Some positions or locations may require use of a personal vehicle and auto liability insurance.

• Computer skills for documentation.
• Must be at least 18 years old.
• Successful background clearance is required as part of onboarding/employment.
• Reading, writing, and communication skills sufficient to document care, follow support plans, and collaborate with team members.

Responsibilities

• Provide direct support, positive direction, instruction, and assistance to people with disabilities.
• Offer hands-on assistance, encouragement, mentoring, and guidance.
• Help ensure the comfort, safety, and personal growth of the people served.
• Assist with daily living tasks, including mobility, getting in and out of bed, dressing, bathing, toileting, and personal hygiene.
• Perform housekeeping and laundry duties.
• Transport people served as required.
• Document care, follow support plans, and collaborate with internal and external team members.
