About The Position

A Direct Support Professional (DSP) caregiver provides direct support, positive direction, instruction, and assistance to individuals with mental, intellectual and developmental, and physical disabilities. The goal is to empower individuals to live as independently and comfortably as possible while maintaining their dignity and respect. The role includes hands-on assistance, encouragement, mentoring, and guidance, while supporting the comfort, safety, and personal growth of the individuals served.

Requirements

• Be at least 18 years old.
• Have a valid driver's license.
• Be comfortable driving to transport individuals served as required.
• Be person-centered, patient, and kind.
• Be dependable, adaptable, and flexible.
• Be observant and detail-oriented.
• Be a positive role model and able to work on a team.
• Be committed to creating a respectful and collaborative environment.
• Have computer skills for documentation.
• Have reading, writing, and communication skills to document care, follow support plans, and collaborate with team members.
• Successfully pass a background clearance as part of the onboarding and employment process.

Responsibilities

• Provide hands-on assistance, encouragement, mentoring, and guidance to individuals served.
• Support individuals' comfort, safety, and personal growth.
• Assist with daily living tasks, including moving around, getting in and out of bed, dressing, bathing, toileting, and personal hygiene.
• Perform housekeeping and laundry duties.
• Transport individuals served as required.
• Document care, follow support plans, and collaborate with internal and external team members.
