Direct Support Professional
About The Position
Merakey is hiring a Direct Support Professional in Selinsgrove, Pennsylvania, within its Intellectual and Developmental Disabilities Division. The role supports individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities in building independence, developing social and communication skills, and navigating daily living activities. The position includes direct care, personal care, household and community support, and serving as a mentor, coach, and advocate. No experience is required; paid training is provided. The listed pay rate is $16.75 per hour, and the available schedule is first shift, Monday through Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m.
Requirements
- Must be at least 18 years of age.
- Must have a valid driver's license.
Responsibilities
- Provide direct care and support with activities of daily living (ADLs).
- Assist with personal care, hygiene, mobility, and meal preparation.
- Support life skills development, including household tasks and social skills.
- Provide community support and transportation.
- Promote health, safety, and well-being, including medication support as trained.
- Complete required documentation, progress notes, and service logs.
- Help individuals develop independence and social and communication skills, and support their personal goals.
